Certified Educators

Our nation’s educators work directly with students every day to ensure they have the skills they need to thrive inside and outside of the classroom.

Many of OEA's members are certified educators - those working in our public schools who are teachers, counselors, school librarians, social workers, school psychologists, and nurses in all of Oregon's 220 school districts. The expertise of our certified members is called upon in numerous ways, from helping implement best practices in our schools, to improving the working conditions of the profession.

OEA and our local associations fight for certified educators every day. Together, we bargain strong contracts to ensure your skills and expertise are valued by your employer. Your salary, benefits and working conditions are all negotiated in your contract, which is why it’s so important that you have a powerful union that can negotiate from a position of strength. When we exercise our legally protected right to bargain with the district over wages and benefits, we are able to win stronger contracts because of our support from members like you.
