Core Programs

Providing educators with the professional learning they need to help students succeed.
OEA offers a variety of professional learning opportunities to help you grow your practice. We respond in a dynamic way to member needs, member input and requests, and current school environments and issues to shape our core programs.
We aim to provide professional learning for all OEA members. Educators can access a variety of in-person and online learning formats within these core programs, including workshops, courses, virtual learning communities, in-person PLCs, independent study, etc. Most of our professional learning is led by OEA member educators. Academic credit (both undergraduate and graduate) and professional development units (PDUs) are available. For a complete list of upcoming opportunities that range in length from one hour to eight weeks, visit our Events page. For year-long opportunities, click on the Empowerment Academies page below.

Empowerment Academies

Academies are year-long cohort opportunities for deep learning, skill development, local implementation, and development of leadership skills.

Affinity Spaces

Creating opportunities for educators to come together and explore their shared identity.

Trauma Informed Education

Being a trauma informed educator can help support students who have experienced or are experiencing trauma and help them be successful, resilient learners.

Licensure & Evaluation

Maintaining your education license and receiving meaningful evaluations shouldn't be a barrier to entering or remaining in the profession. OEA is committed to supporting our members though these processes.

Every Oregon student deserves a school where they feel safe and seen. I’m proud of the work OEA members do every day to make sure students and educators have the funding and support they need to thrive.
