OEA's Aspiring Educator program empowers, supports, and provides development opportunities for Oregon's next generation of educators. Aspiring Educators are the leaders of the future of education in our state, and are at the forefront of our student-centered advocacy.

Join your fellow Aspiring Educators from around the state in shaping the future of public eduction in Oregon.

Benefits for Aspiring Educators

Libaility Coverage: Aspiring Educators are eligible for $1 million in professional liability coverage and other legal services
Union Connection: Aspiring Educators can access resources and publications from both OEA and NEA, including new information on licensure, graduation standards, peer-reviewed teaching practices, and organizational information
Networking: Aspiring Educators join a nationwide network of professionals who are planning to enter the education profession, and are able to attend many state and nation conferences and convenings
Professional Development: Aspiring Educators have access to OEA's professional learning opportunities as a free benefit of membership

Keeping the Promise of Quality Public Education

The Oregon Education Association (OEA) is a union committed to the cause of providing the basic right of great public education to every student. OEA represents about 41,000 educators working in pre-kindergarten through grade 12 public schools and community colleges. OEA’s membership includes licensed teachers and specialists, classified/education support professionals (ESPs), community college faculty, retired educators, and student members. OEA members also belong to the 3.2 million members of the National Education Association (NEA).
