Anniversary of the Attack on the Sikh Temple in Oak Creek, WI

In 2012, a gunman opened fire on worshippers at the Sikh Temple in Oak Creek, WI. Six people were killed and 35 injured before the gunman took his own life. Investigators initially refused to categorize the mass shooting as a hate crime even though the gunman was a white supremacist. The attack is yet another example of the widespread White terrorism targeting South Asian, Muslim, and Arab Americans following the World Trade Center attacks on 9/11.
