Birth of Vernon Bellecourt

Vernon Bellecourt was an activist and founding member of the American Indian Movement. Bellecourt was a member of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe and leader in the fight for human rights of Indigenous peoples, the restoration of Native lands and the preservation of Indigenous cultures and languages.
