Tell lawmakers to pass HB 4077
What is HB 4077?
HB 4077 increases access to incident forms by making an online form that we can fill out on our smartphones and computers.
If passed, the bill codifies the 2023 Interim Incident Reporting Work Group and requires the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) and the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) to work with a group of stakeholders like OEA and OSEA to create an online form, process, and database for incident forms.
Currently, the state of Oregon only tracks injuries that are identified as catastrophic (injuries causing loss of limb, eye, bone, hospitalization, or death) and accepted disabling claims (injuries causing a worker to be released by a doctor for three or more days). Right now, any injury that causes less than 3 days off work is not tracked by the state – no matter how frequently they happen.
HB 4077 would help us get accurate data about incidents of injury or violence that happen at our neighborhood public schools.
