Anniversary of the Slavery Reparations Rally at the Capitol

In 2002, thousands people rallied for slavery reparations in Washington D.C. The rally was in support of compensating African Americans for the suffering of their ancestors during slavery. The rally took place near the Capitol Building, which was built by slaves. Slave Masters were paid $54/month for each person who helped build the Capitol. Enslaved people were paid nothing.
