Anniversary of the Seneca Treaty of Buffalo Creek

This treaty signed in 1842 spurred the US government’s efforts to remove the Seneca people from their lands. The government proposed the sale of four Seneca reservations for new land in Kansas which was just only about a third the size of their previous home.
