In 1882 in Nashville, TN, Ephraim Grizzard and his brothers were taken to jail after two White girls said they were assaulted by several Black men. Ephraim and his brother Henry were both taken by a White mob, lynched and their mutilated bodies were left hanging from the Woodland Street Bridge. No one was held accountable for the murders.
