The Society of American Indians was formed by about 50 Native men and women at Ohio State University as an antidote to Columbus Day. The Society’s goals were to raise awareness of the achievements of Native Americans and discuss the challenges faces by Indigenous Peoples. The Society was dissolved in 1923.
