Anniversary of the arrest of Homer Plessy

On this day, Homer Plessy was arrested for refusing to sit in the "Colored" section of the train. The historic Plessy v. Ferguson case at the U.S. Supreme Court would hold that state-mandated segregation laws did not violate the equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment.
