Anniversary of the 1811 Shawnee attack led by Tecumseh

Allies of Tecumseh, a Shawnee Chief and leader of U.S. expansion, led an attack on a U.S. military force led by William Henry Harrison near Prophetstown. The Natives were outnumbered and outgunned. After their defeat, Harrison burned the village to the ground. This led to Native who resisted expansion siding with the British.

OEA represents about 41,000 educators working in pre-kindergarten through grade 12 public schools and community colleges.
