Take Action
Join with educators and advocates across the state in showing your support for lawmakers who passed strong public education budgets for the upcoming biennium, ensuring students will have access to the resources they need to thrive!
Over the past biennium, the needs of Oregon's students have continued to grow. The pandemic, disrupted learning in classrooms, and the education workforce crisis have taken their toll on our neighborhood public schools. Because of these pressures, it has never been more important for leaders to ensure our neighborhood public schools and community colleges have access to the resources necessary to serve the students of Oregon.
That's why it's so important that lawmakers in Salem recently took real action to support students, including:
- Passing $10.2 billion in funding for the State School Fund and $800 million for the Community College Support Fund, ensuring our schools and colleges can maintain services for their students;
- Increasing funding to the Student Investment Account of the Student Success Act, helping local districts meet the unique needs of their students and their communities;
- Investing in literacy training curriculum for Oregon's educators; and
- Increasing funding for Oregon Opportunity Grants, helping more Oregonians access higher education.
Add your name and tell your lawmakers thank you for supporting students in Oregon!
Please note: If your local lawmakers don't show up in the letter-writing tool, it means they voted against one or both of the budget bills funding public education for the upcoming biennium.
