Demand Lawmakers Create a Plan for Revenue

Major education bills and priority needs for working class Oregonians failed this session because of a lack of revenue. This cannot become our new normal. Demand that lawmakers create a plan for new revenue.

Lawmakers Must Take Action on New Revenue

The 2025 legislative session is coming to a close, and it was a let-down for public education and working families. All three of OEA’s priority bills stalled, and many of our coalition partners watched their key proposals fail as well. Desperately needed funding for special-education services, pay parity for part-time community-college faculty, and making class size and case loads a mandatory subject of bargaining were all left to die.

This session’s outcome reaffirms what we have been saying for years: If lawmakers can’t find new, sustainable revenue, critical services will continue to be underfunded and Oregon families will continue to feel the squeeze.

We refuse to accept another year of inaction. Take two minutes right now to email your legislators and insist they come back in 2026 with a real plan to raise revenue for schools and other vital services.
