Oregon Labor Candidate School

// News

Tired of policy makers ignoring the interests of educators and working families? Ever thought of running for office? Now is your chance to be the change from within – sign up for the Oregon Labor Candidate School (OLC) today!

The Oregon Labor Candidate School (OLCS) is an important element of OEA's strategic goal to reshape politics!  The School was created by a coalition of Oregon unions to meet the growing need for labor champions in elected office. Electing labor champions not only benefits union members, it benefits all Oregonians. By electing working people who know our communities, we increase support for pro-worker policies that benefit everyone.

NEW: Read about the Oregon Labor Candidate's schools successes to date in their 2012-2014 Biennial Report.

The twelve-month program provides participants the opportunity to meet and be mentored by elected officials and labor leaders from around the state and be trained on everything from giving a good speech, building a volunteer base, fundraising and how to work with the media.

For questions or more information, check out the OLCS website or email oea-gr@oregoned.org!
